 Clever and comfortable Oct 15, 2008
These are wonderful pillows. The outside is soft fleece and the inside, cotton. They zip open to a full size pillow and fold in half closed as a travel pillow. Clever and truly comfortable. We got the orange and green. I prefer the green, but my son prefers the orange. We're both happy!

I bought this because of the zip open feature but that is pretty useless. Closed, its a semi-decent airline pillow, but unzipping it just gives you a larger really flat pillow that you'd want to fold over to have any substance to it. I'd go with a cheaper alternative. They would have needed to double the amount of filling in order to make the zip open function have any real purpose.

really liked this pillow helped make an 8 hour flight a little more comfy. It is larger than inflatalbe pillows but I felt it was much more comfy and didn't take up too much room

Great little travel pillow Apr 03, 2008
I originally bought this and other accessories for a long flight from the East Coast to Hawaii and have since used them regularly for all cross-country or longer flights. I gave this 5 stars for the following reasons.
1. This is a well made pillow that is cost efficient enough that I would not agonize over if it got lost, damaged, stolen or abandoned.
2. Excellent size for airline flights, long car trips or train rides in comfort. Bigger, softer and thicker than airline ones.
3. It is YOURS! Not an airline provided God-knows-how-many-people-or-who-has-used-it-for-what-before-you-and-when-was-it-last-washed-anyway pillows. Brrrr.
4. Many uses, works great zipped up or unzipped (as a full size pillow). Great for travel and at your destination or at home.
5. Plus, you can unzip it a bit and store some personal items inside the pillow to maximize space efficiency.
The only CON is the same as a travel blanket. It does not fold/roll down to the size of a matchbook. It is more like 13x9 when zipped up but it can be squished down further when compressed into your carry-on and you can store stuff like eye shades, neck pillow etc. inside it. So if space is important to you be aware of this, though it really compacts well. I find the space trade off well worth bringing this along on most trips.
By the way, the Samsonite travel blanket is a great companion to the pillow and a great deal and for the same reasons as above.
